The Marsho Clinic in Sheboygan will not be closing after all, contrary to a text message sent to patients this morning. A person close to the transition told WHBL news this afternoon that the facility will not close on October 29th. Rather, Ascension Medical Group will conclude management of the facility at the close of business on Friday, October 29th, and on Monday, November 1 the clinic will begin operations under the Prevea Health Group.
A text message sent to patients on Monday morning stated: “AMG-Marsho Clinics are closing on 10-29-21. Prevea will maintain your medical records….”
The official, who requested to remain anonymous, clarified the situation, and told us that the details of the changeover were not yet final, and that all the providers (physicians) had yet to commit to either remaining or leaving their practice at Marsho. The spokesperson said that this had nothing to do with Aspirus of Wausau obtaining seven Wisconsin hospitals and 21 clinics earlier this year from Ascension, as those acquisitions were located in Northern Wisconsin.
The spokesperson stated that a letter will be sent to all patients in the future clearly explaining the changeover and options that need to be considered by patients.

Sheboygan’s Marsho Clinic will be closed by the Ascension Medical Group on October 29th after serving the Sheboygan Area for over 70 years.
Within the last few years Marsho came under the umbrella of Ascension Medical Group, which according to the website fiercehealthcare.com, announced on August 2nd an agreement that was begun in January to turn over seven Wisconsin hospitals and 21 physician clinics to Aspirus Health of Wausau; however Marsho was not specifically identified in that announcement as part of that move.
Calls to Dean Becker, the Clinic Manager at Ascension Medical Group – Marsho Clinic were deferred to Ascension Medical Group, which did not return calls as of the publication time of this story.
A text message sent to patients Monday morning directed appointment and prescription calls to Prevea, which will maintain Marsho patient records.
