While national trends show an easing of the coronavirus, Sheboygan County continues to see increasing metrics of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Active cases of COVID-19 now number 688, up 10 from Thursday, and the highest since 699 were last recorded on January 19th. A total of 15,778 cases have now been recorded here. Those in their 20s represent the largest case number at 2,644, with those in their 30s a close second at 2,626. 2,522 have been to persons in their 50s, 2,302 in their 40s, 1,791 in their 60s, 1,716 in their teens, 896 in their 70s, 682 cases were to persons 0-9 years old and 599 were 80 or older.
Sheboygan County is currently experiencing a “high” level of transmission, with the total number of new cases per 100,000 persons in the last 7 days 234.96, and the percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the last week was 9.62%. Hospitalizations increased by 4 in the last day, with 13 persons currently being treated for their symptoms.
Vaccination rates have been subdued in the past week compared with most of September, with another 38 having received at least one shot of vaccine since Thursday’s report. That amounts to a total of 63,678 county residents, or 55.2%. 60,869, or 52.8%, are fully vaccinated, and that’s 43 more since Thursday’s data.
