74 new positive tests for COVID-19 were countered by 17 recoveries since Monday, and the Sheboygan County Coronavirus Case Dashboard tallied the 15,658th case of the coronavirus with Tuesday’s daily update. 662 cases are now active, an increase of 57 cases in one day. 10 county residents are currently hospitalized for treatment of their symptoms.
Advocate Aurora reports that their Wisconsin COVID-19 patient population increased 6.4% over last week, as 248 persons are now being treated in the Badger State. Compared to a month ago that number represents a 49.4% gain. Continuing Care provided after hospitalization increased 142.9% throughout the Advocate Aurora system over the last month.
The Prevea Health system announced today that they will now accept appointments at locations across Wisconsin for Pfizer COVID-19 booster vaccination for select groups. The booster can only be administered to those whose primary vaccination series was the Pfizer vaccine, and only at least six months after receiving the second dose of Pfizer vaccine. Those eligible include:
- People 65 years and older
- All residents in long-term care
- People aged 50-64 with certain underlying medical conditions
- People aged 18-49 with certain underlying medical conditions
- People aged 18-64 at an increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission due to their job or institutional settings, including front line essential workers and health care workers:
- First responders (health care workers, firefighters, police, staff at congregate care facilities)
- Education staff (teachers, support staff, childcare workers)
- Food and agriculture workers
- Manufacturing workers
- Corrections workers
- U.S. Postal Service workers
- Public transit workers
- Grocery store workers

55.1% of Sheboygan County’s population has received at least one dose of vaccine, amounting to 63,523 persons. 60,654 have completed their vaccine series, accounting for 52.6% of the population.
A free “Walk-In Wednesday” vaccine clinic will be offered on September 29th at the Sheboygan County Health and Human Services building at 1011 North 8th street from 9 AM until 4 PM. The clinic will be repeated next week. Anyone 12 years or older is eligible, and no appointment is needed.
