DETROIT, MI (WHBL) – It was a long Tuesday night for the Milwaukee Brewers in Detroit. With a rain delay and extra innings involved, Milwaukee fell 1-0 to the Tigers when Derek Hill hit a walk-off double to score the winning run in the 11th inning.
The Brewers finished with just four hits, while the Tigers were held to just three hits. Freddy Peralta didn’t allow a run over six innings and struck out nine for Milwaukee. Hunter Strickland took the loss.
Former Brewer Wily Peralta started for Detroit and pitched six scoreless innings.
The Brewers had a chance in the 11th inning, loading the bases with just one out. But Christian yelich grounded into a double play on a 3-0 pitch.
The Tigers will try to sweep the Brewers Wednesday afternoon. Brandon Woodruff gets the call today for Milwaukee, while Matt Manning goes to the hill for Detroit. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 11:35.
