Jeanette “Bord” Kober, 87, of Sheboygan, went to her eternal home to meet her Lord and Savior face to face on
Sunday, August 29, 2021.
Jeanette was born to William and Mabel (Zastrow) Jaeger on March 21, 1934, in the town of Centerville on the
family homestead. There, she attended Center school until moving to Sheboygan where she graduated from
Central High School with the Class of 1952.
After high school, she began working her factory jobs at American Chair where she met Arthur Bord Jr. Jeanette
and Arthur were married on November 6, 1954. Jeanette worked many factory jobs but always a shift that worked
for her family. She was also employed at Wigwam, Sheboygan Paper Box, Kohler, Northland Plastics, and Mayline.
After retiring, she got her dream job at the YMCA where she greatly enjoyed everyone she waited on. After 35
years of marriage, Art Bord Jr., was called to his heavenly home on November 6, 1989.
On August 2, 1997, she married a family friend, Art Kober. They united two families and did a lot of travelling. They
were active with the Sheboygan A’s and did a lot of socializing. Art Kober, who was referred to as “Artie Two,”
passed away on January 12, 2017. With COVID going on, Jeanette moved in with her brother and best friend,
Ellsworth Jaeger. It was there and with him that she wanted to pass into heaven. We thank Uncle Ellie for all his
kindness, wit, and love. Jeanette spent her life caring for her immediate family, siblings, parents, in-laws,
neighbors, and friends. She did not like being on the receiving end of being cared for.
She taught her children the values that she had learned growing up on the farm and from her faith in Jesus. She
was a member of St. Peter St. John in Cleveland where she was confirmed as a child. After moving to Sheboygan,
she became a member of Our Saviors until 1954 when she married Art Bord Jr. She then became a member of the
Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Diane (Jim) Hasenstein; sons, Mark, Bord and Scott (Chris) Bord;
stepdaughters, Karen Gabryel and Lori (Todd) Knepfel; stepson, Dave Kober; step great-grandchildren, Jakob
Wickert, Grace and Kameron Hasenstein, Zachary, Hannah, and Jack Paulsen; brother, Ellsworth Jaeger; many
nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel Jaeger; her two husbands, Arthur Bord Jr. and
Arthur Kober; sisters, Ruth (Elmer) Barts, Viola (Herb) Hoppe, Florence (Clemens) Lorenz, Audrey (Hugo) Janing;
brothers, Roland (Edna) Jaeger, Harold (Lucille) Jaeger, George Jaeger, and Delton Jaeger; daughter-in-law, Molli
Bord; stepson, Kevin Kober; stepson-in-law, Gary Gabryel.
Dear Jesus, thank you for giving us our loving mother, Jeanette. You gave yourself for us, and she followed in your
footsteps, always caring for us and loving us no matter what.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer (3027
Wilgus Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081) from 9-11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00
AM at the church with Pastor Bryan Osadil officiating.
Jeanette will be entombed next to her husband, Art Bord. Jr. At Greenlawn Cemetery.
Jeanette’s family would like to thank Dr. Woody at the Lombardi Clinic and the staff at Sharon S.
Richardson Hospice for their wonderful care.
Memorials in Jeanette’s name may be directed to The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and Sharon S.
Richardson Community hospice.
When you pick a weed, think of Jeanette, and remember that there are no weeds in heaven.
