As a beautiful summer weekend ended, Rosalyn Emma Jacoby, age 87, passed away peacefully early in
the morning on August 30, 2021 at Songbird Pond Assisted Living in Plymouth surrounded by her
family.
Rosalyn was born June 17, 1934 in Sheboygan, WI, daughter of the late Walter and Anita (Mueller)
Linder. She was united in marriage on April 17, 1956 to Thomas John Jacoby at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Random Lake, WI. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Mark (Jean) Jacoby of
Monroe, GA, Renee (Steve) Kessler of Hopkins, MN, Jane (Richard) Thome of Plymouth, WI and Kris
(Mark) Purchatzke of Boerne, TX, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Together they owned and
operated Jacoby Chevrolet in Random Lake, WI; a second generation family run business. Later, they
would also own and operate a Chrysler dealership in Fredonia, WI.
Rosalyn was a dedicated and devoted Catholic who loved to care for and serve others; exemplified in her
47 years of marriage and the 11 years she lovingly cared for her husband following a disabling stroke.
Her life was filled with good humor, laughter and caring relationships. She enjoyed living on Random
Lake, entertaining friends and family for the holidays, birthdays and casual get togethers, reading books,
tending her gardens, and traveling. She was a tireless volunteer, especially in her retirement years after
moving to Plymouth, WI – delivering Meals on Wheels, greeter and host at the Plymouth Historical
Museum and Plymouth Art Center, ministering communion to the sick and homebound and many other
volunteer efforts as a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Random Lake, WI, St. John
the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, WI and the Daughters of Isabella. She never missed recognizing
birthdays, anniversaries and other events with handwritten cards and documented her life memoirs as a
gift to her family.
Besides her four children, she is survived by her brothers Charles (Arlene) Linder and John Linder of
Madison, WI, her brother-in laws Robert (Marilyn) Jacoby of Plymouth, WI, Raymond (Judy) Jacoby of
Waubeka WI, and Henry (Carole) Jacoby of New Market, MD; her grandchildren Shaun (Kimberly)
Thome, Lauren (Daniel) Rakowski, Jacob (Ayesha) Kessler, Alyssa (Shane) Alloway, Samuel Kessler
(Rachel Kozberg), Shannon Jacoby (Joe Heisler), Alexandra, Elise and Jaclyn Purchatzke; her great-
grandchildren Hayley and Madison Thome and Tyler, Cole and Jaxen Rakowski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister Rita (Linder) Helm, brother-in-law Gordon Helm,
sister-in-law Marcie (Wetor) Linder.
Memorial mass will held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth on Friday (September 3,
