BUFFALO, NY (WHBL) – The Green Bay Packers were shut out by the Buffalo Bills 19-0 in the preseason finale on Saturday afternoon.
Josh Allen completed 20 of 26 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bills.
Jordan Love, making his second pre-season start for the Packers, played the entire first half. He was 10-16 for 149 yards. He also threw an ill-advised interception, heaving the ball over the middle while stumbling backward.
Kurt Benkert, hoping to make the Packers opening day roster as a third quarterback, played in the second half. He was 7-11 for 87 yards.
The Packers made three trips to the red zone but came away with no points. They were stopped on 4th down near the goal line. And Mason Crosby missed a short field goal near the end of the first half.
The Packers must cut their roster down to 53 players by Monday.
It’s the first time the Packers have had a winless pre-season since 1987.
The Packers have two weeks off before the regular season opener on September 12th at the New Orleans Saints.
