ST. LOUIS, MO (WHBL) – Corbin Burnes pitched another gem as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cardinals 2-0 in St. Louis on Tuesday night. The Milwaukee ace grabbed his eighth win of the season, giving up just two hits in six scoreless innings, and has now thrown fifteen consecutive innings without allowing a run.
Kolten Wong drove in a run with his 22nd double of the season in the second inning to open the scoring, and Omar Narvaez brought in Christian Yelich for insurance with a double in the third.
Josh Hader tossed a scoreless ninth for his 24th save as the Brewers extend their NL Central lead to eight-and-a-half games.
Adam Wainwright was handed his seventh loss of the year, despite a strong performance. The 16-year veteran gave up just two runs in six innings.
The Cardinals loss ends a six-game winning streak.
