Kathleen Patricia O’Keefe Wilson, 73, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 18, 2021, at Sheboygan Health Services in Sheboygan, WI.
She was born on February 5, 1948, to John Patrick O’Keefe and Carole Harms O’Keefe in Green Bay, WI. She married Larry G. Wilson on November 25, 1967, in Green Bay, WI.
Kathy grew up in De Pere, WI, and attended East De Pere High School. She worked as a still model for Pranges department store and later became a licensed cosmetologist. She owned a hair and beauty salon in Green Bay, WI, prior to moving to Arizona in 1979. She later lived in Littleton, CO, for over a decade where she enjoyed a mix of city life and drives through the Rocky Mountains. She was also a volunteer for the Rape Crisis Centers in Green Bay and Denver. Kathy returned to the Green Bay area in 1995 to be near her first-born grandson, Cody Patrick Wilson. In her later years, she resided at Sheboygan Health Services, to be near her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Throughout her life she had an insatiable love for reading and books. Her brilliantly eclectic library will be loved by her family.
Kathy is survived by her daughters Amy L. Wilson, Ph.D., Sheboygan; Jennifer L. Wilson, Green Bay; grandchildren Cody Patrick Wilson (Nicole Bennett), Sheboygan; Aaron J. Gutierrez, Sheboygan; Slater Grae Gutierrez, Sheboygan; Jaxon Colin Wilson, Green Bay; Melissa Dawn Gutierrez, Sheboygan; great grandchildren Jonathan Patrick Wilson, Sheboygan; Connor Jo Wilson, Sheboygan; Madisyn LeeAnn Wilson, Sheboygan; Jaxsyn Scott Schaal Wilson, Sheboygan; Kamilla Dawn Gutierrez, Sheboygan; brothers Donald O’Keefe (Terri), Green Bay; James O’Keefe (Linda), De Pere; Timothy O’Keefe; Green Bay; and sister Maureen Norman (David), Green Bay; beloved nieces and nephews Dean O’Keefe (Beth), Buffalo, NY; Erin O’Keefe (Scott Holt), Green Bay; Christopher O’Keefe (Paulina), Tulsa, OK; Tyler Plog, Grand Chute; Casey Plog, De Pere; Jamie Plog, Green Bay; Eric Norman (Kate), Green Bay; Katie Cabelka (Karen), Waukesha; twelve great nephews and nieces, and her former husband and friend, Larry G. Wilson (Barb Bonfield), Green Bay.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael O’Keefe.
The family would like thank the nurses, staff, volunteers, and doctors of Sheboygan Health Services, who were excellent caretakers, providing so much kindness and assistance for Kathy in her final years. Also, the hospice nurses and administration who were wonderful over the years and through the transition process. Your thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed. We are grateful to all of you. A funeral will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, 807 Superior Ave, Sheboygan, WI, on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at noon, following a luncheon for family and friends.
