Martha Emma Ehlenbeck, age 101, of Plymouth, WI, passed away early Monday evening
(August 9, 2021) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility where she had been a resident for
the past five years.
She was born on August 7, 1920 in Plymouth, WI; a daughter of the late George and
Clara (Suhrke) Allwardt.
She attended Valley Elementary School in the Town of Plymouth.
On October 3, 1942 she married Clarence Ehlenbeck at St. George Catholic Church in
Elkhart Lake. The couple had resided in the Town of Plymouth since their marriage. Her
husband preceded her in death on February 11, 1988.
Martha worked as an assembler for 29 years at the Kohler Co., retiring in 1983.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and was also a
member of AARP.
Martha enjoyed gardening, flowers and playing cards, especially sheephead.
Survivors include: one daughter: Janice Hovey of Plymouth; two grandchildren: Damien
(Amy) Hovey of Plymouth and Aletia (Mike) Novak of Plymouth; and four great
grandchildren: McKenna and Jack Hovey, Kade and Kassidy Novak all of Plymouth.
Also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth
on Friday (August 13) at 11:30 A.M. The Father Philip Reifenberg, Pastor of the Church
will officiate. Cremation will follow the services with inurnment at Plymouth Woodlawn
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the CHURCH on Friday (Aug 13) from 10:30 A.M. until the time of
services.
A Memorial fund is being established in Martha’s name for St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church or the Plymouth Food Pantry.
