The City of Sheboygan’s public transit system, Shoreline Metro, has been honored by the Federal Transit Administration. The Achievement of Excellence recognition was for exemplary completion of an FTA review in 2021 with no final report findings.
The reviews are required every three years of all federally-funded public transportation systems to ensure compliance with rules such as ADA, Title VI (Civil Rights) and others. Shoreline Metro’s prior review, conducted in 2017, won that same award.
Shoreline Metro’s Director Derek Muench said this really was a team award. Muench said the pandemic made it especially hard on everyone to ensure safe service each day, and said that “The drivers and staff at Shoreline Metro are the true award winners.”
