It’s high season for road construction as crews work to make the most of good summer weather. Most of those projects will still allow traffic to flow, albeit at reduced speeds and with flagging operations.
Seventeen I-43 bridges in Manitowoc County are getting polymer overlays requiring single-lane closures and reduced speeds, and minor delays are possible there. In Sheboygan County, various single-lane closures will continue as crews complete shoulder work, adjust beam guards and replace signs south of Sheboygan.
The Highway 23 expansion project continues, involving single-lane closures where work is wrapping up. Most of that is done in Sheboygan County, while the rural section in Fond du Lac County will last until late October.
Highway 67 from Plymouth northward into Manitowoc County is being rebuilt, requiring single-lane closures for now, but full closures will be needed in the future.
For now, the area’s only full closure is Highway 32 between Main Street in Cedar Grove and Sauk Trail Road just west of I-43. That project will take until early September to complete.
