PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers banged out 16 hits and completed a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates 12-0 on Thursday night at PNC Park.
Manny Pina led the Milwaukee attack, going 3 for 5 with two home runs and five RBIs. Rowdy Tellez hit his fourth homer as part of a three hit night. Willy Adames and Tyrone Taylor also had three hits each and Lorenzo Cain notched 3 RBIs in the win.
Freddy Peralta went six innings, giving up just two hits and striking out five. Miguel Sanchez, Devin Williams and Jandel Gustave pitched three innings of scoreless relief.
The Brewers will now head to Atlanta to face the Braves in a 3-game weekend series starting Friday night. Corbin Burnes will start for Milwaukee.
