PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers knocked off the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-3 on Wednesday night at PNC Park.
Adrian Houser pitched five shutout innings for the Brewers, allowing just two hits and one walk.
Lorenzo Cain had a two-run double in the 4th inning. The Brewers added three more in the 6th on a Luis Urias two-run double and a Kolten Wong sacrifice fly. Tyrone Taylor added an RBI single in the 7th.
For Pittsburgh, Max Kranick gave up six runs on ten hits over five innings. Rodolfo Castro hit a pair of homers for the Pirates, who have lost three straight.
The Brewers will go for the series sweep Thursday night. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 5:30.
Meanwhile, the Brewers acquired infielder Eduardo Escobar from the Diamondbacks on Wednesday in exchange for two prospects.
Escobar has 22 home runs this season and made the All-Star game. He can play any infield position and will likely be at third and first base.
Catcher Cooper Hummel and infielder Alberto Ciprian were sent to the Diamondbacks in the trade.
