(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 23, 2021 – Now in his third season behind the wheel of a 360 Sprint Car, Tyler Tischendorf of Waupaca has been making his presence felt in a big way at the head of the crowded Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car pack during the 2021 season at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis.
Tischendorf, who makes the long haul from Waupaca each week to race with the ultra-competitive 360 Sprint Car division, has experienced a roller-coaster ride in 2021 highlighted by a pair of top-five A-main showings mixed in with some mechanical maladies.
On Saturday, July 10, Tischendorf scored his second career top-five 360 Sprint Car A-main showing at The Plymouth Dirt Track with a fifth-place finish in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event.
“Our season has had its fair share of ups and downs,” Tischendorf said. “We have two top-five A-main finishes and a three top 10s so this season, but we need to be more consistent.”
Tischendorf, who is employed as a semi-truck driver, was first exposed to the sport of dirt track racing as a youngster.
“I have been around racing my entire life,” Tischendorf said. “Both my dad and grandpa raced Sprint Cars and Midgets. I have raced Dirt Karts, Badger Micro Sprints, IMCA Sport Mods, Wisconsin wingLESS Sprints and the MSA 360 Sprint Cars.”
After competing in five different divisions during his relative brief racing career, Tischendorf points to his first top-five main event finish with the MSA 360 Sprint Cars as his career highlight so far.
“Honestly, the moment in my racing career that sticks out most is my first top-five with the MSA at Plymouth earlier this year on May 22nd,” Tischendorf said.
Beyond the results, Tischendorf has cherished the relationships he has formed through the sport of racing over the years.
“My favorite thing about racing is the people I have met along the way,” Tischendorf said. “I have made some amazing friends from racing.”
Despite missing one night of action this year, Tischendorf current sits 16th in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car point standings.
With two top-five A-main showings, three top-10 A-main finishes and one heat race win already under his belt this season, the 20-year-old Tischendorf is looking forward to closing the 2021 campaign on a strong note.
“I set a goal to get three top-five A-main finishes this year and being more consistent in general,” Tischendorf said.
As for the future, Tischendorf expects to be a regular competitor in the 360 Sprint Cars for some time to come.
“For our future plans, we plan on staying with the MSA unless I get a ride with the IRA 410 Sprint Cars,” Tischendorf said.”
Tischendorf’s crew includes his dad, Tim, mom, Julie, Mikey Thill, Steve Petrovs, Olivia Petrovs, Mike Greiner and Peggy Johnson.
Sponsors for the Tischendorf Racing Team are Green Bay Blizzard, Happy Camper RV and Boat Storage, Bartill Farms, Mitchell’s Heating and Cooling, Johnson Auto Body, Golke Brothers Steel Roofing, Whitetail Valley Beef, Marvin Metals, Ivon’s Remax, Trailside Bar and Grille, Valley Truck Leasing and Jim’s Countyline Bar.
