Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig reports that all three suspects in an attempted armed robbery on July 7th have been accounted for, and two are in custody. The three, one of them from Sheboygan County, are alleged to have entered an apartment in the Village of Valders late that night, assaulting two persons with a crow bar that sent them to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for treatment of significant injuries. The Sheriff employed social media and other law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend the suspects.
22-year-old Hunter Steiner of New Holstein turned himself in at the Manitowoc County Jail. He’s being held on $50,000 cash bail on charges of Attempted Armed Robbery, Burglary-Armed with a Dangerous Weapon, Aggravated Battery, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Bail Jumping.
21-year-old Brayton Zimmerman of Mount Calvary was located in Fond du Lac County, interviewed and released pending further investigation.
On Wednesday, 23-year-old Chase Wagoner of Glenbeulah was arrested in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is being held at the Kent County Jail pending his extradition back to Wisconsin. He’ll be charged with Attempted Armed Robbery, Burglary-Armed with a Dangerous Weapon, Aggravated Battery, and Possession of Burlarious Tools.
