A severe shortage of blood for transfusions, surgeries and emergencies continues across Wisconsin and the U.S., and donors are being urged to come forward.
According to the Red Cross of Wisconsin, more than 1,000 additional blood donations are needed each day to meet current demand, and while all blood types are needed, donors with type “O” and those giving platelets are especially important right now.
While blood drives are held regularly, donation appointments can also be scheduled online at RedCrossBlood.org, and those giving now through the end of July will receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card via email and also be entered for a chance to win gas for a year valued at $5,000.
