NEW YORK, NY (WHBL) – The New York Mets topped the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 on Monday at Citi Field in Queens.
The Brewers took an early lead on a solo home run from Omar Narvaez but New York struck back against Brandon Woodruff.
Woodruff had pitched six innings, allowing one run and only one hit. However, in the 7th the Mets scored three times on a two-run double from Pete Alonso and an RBI single from Michael Conforto.
The Brewers tried to rally in the 9th. Tyrone Taylor drove in a run with an infield single and the Brewers had two runners on with no outs but Mets closer Edwin Diaz worked out of the jam.
