MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Brandon Woodruff struck out eight as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 2-1 at American Family Field on Tuesday night. The right-hander picked up his seventh win, allowing only four hits through six innings.
Christian Yelich doubled in a run in the first for Milwaukee. Second baseman Jace Peterson broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI single in the fourth.
Josh Hader struck out two to secure his 20th save. The Brewers have now won seven straight.
Patrick Wisdom delivered Chicago’s only run with an RBI double. Zach Davies was tagged with his fifth loss. The Cubs have lost five in a row.
