The Wisconsin State Fair announced a few changes to this year’s fair in August. Due to more sanitation protocols and a decrease in staff and volunteers, the grounds had to change some things this year including reduced hours.
The fair has decided to open at 11 am and close at 11 pm. This means that parking will begin at 10:30 am every day, but exhibit competitions that are scheduled before 11 am will proceed as is. Food vendors, shopping, and other events at the fair will remain closed until 11 am each day.
Another change for this year’s event will be a cashless parking and admission system. The State Fair Park officials said in a press release, “To make entry more efficient and continue to prioritize safety, parking and admissions will be a cashless experience for fairgoers.” The office is encouraging people to purchase tickets online ahead of time to make things easier while entering the fairgrounds.
Wisconsin State Fair Park CEO Kathy O’Leary said that masks will not be required to enter the event, which will take place August 5th – 15th in West Allis.
