MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Keston Hiura came up with a solo home run and a two-RBI double to help the Milwaukee Brewers to their third series sweep of the month with a 5-0 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday at American Family Field.
Hiura finished 2 for 4 in the game with three RBI’s and a run scored. He was the only Brewer with multiple hits in the game.
Omar Navaez added a two-run homer in the 6th to complete the scoring.
Eric Lauer turned in a quality start with 6 innings pitched, allowing just two hits and two walks. He also struck out six.
Trevor Richards, Hunter Strickland, and Ryan Weber teamed up to pitch the final three innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.
The win moves the Brewers to 45-33 on the season, two games ahead of the Chicago Cubs for first place in the NL Central.
The Cubs are scheduled to visit American Family Field for a three-game set beginning on Monday. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:35.
