(Reuters) – An area of cloudiness and thunderstorms located over the Straits of Florida has a 40% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Thursday.
“This system is likely to become a tropical or subtropical depression or storm this weekend when it is located near or north of the northwestern Bahamas,” the Miami-based weather forecaster added.
