With two weeks until the July 4th weekend, it appears impossible that Wisconsin will reach the goal of 70% of the population receiving at least one shot as set by President Biden. As of Friday morning, 49.5%, or 2,880,827 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose, while 2,623,899 – or 45.1% – are fully vaccinated. Sheboygan County also lags behind the goals, with 47.8% of our population having received at least one shot. That amounts to 55,180 persons, 150 more than on Thursday. 50,707, or 44.0%, have completed their series, an increase of 257 since Thursday.
The activity level in Sheboygan County was assigned on Friday as “Medium” by the State DHS, with a current burden rate of “Moderate” – at 28.8 cases per 100,000 people, and no significant change in trajectory.
With the waning of the pandemic and few significant developments of late, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health is concluding the daily updates with today’s issue. Going forward, a weekly update will be published each Thursday, while daily data will be posted on the COVID-19 dashboard at sheboygancounty.com
