After closer review, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County has been revised downward by one, to a total of 13,873 for the course of the pandemic. This comes as there were no recoveries and no new positive tests within the last 24 hours, while 49 negative tests were received since Monday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services added another 100 positive test results to its count of cases in the state, raising the pandemic total to 611,819. Four more deaths were attributed to COVID-19 since Monday, raising the toll to 7,212, and four more deaths were listed as “probable” due to the disease, contributing to a total of 811 cases so determined.
The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports a net drop of 5 patients in the state being treated for COVID-19 since Monday. Of the 125 current patients, 39 are in ICU beds, and 393 patients across Wisconsin are on ventilators.
Vaccinations are still struggling to reach 50% both in Sheboygan County and in the State as a whole. As of Tuesday, 54,777 Sheboygan County residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, amounting to 47.5% of the population. That compares with 49.2% statewide. 49,963 persons in Sheboygan County are now fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus – 43.3% of the county population. By comparison, 44.5% of state residents overall are completely vaccinated as of Tuesday morning. According to statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, only 140 doses have been administered in Sheboygan County so far this week.
