The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County has fallen below 100 according to Monday’s update from the county Division of Public Health. With 5 new cases since Friday, and 22 persons recovering since then, the active case count was 91. Three of those are currently hospitalized, one fewer than reported on Friday. 13,767 cases in all have been reported here since the start of the pandemic.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services added 898 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19 since Friday, 116 of those on Monday, raising the running case total to 606,274. No deaths were added Monday, and the toll remains 6,958. 27 more persons were hospitalized, and a net drop of two patients was noted in the state, with a population of 321 requiring treatment, 71 in ICU beds. 362 ventilators are in use statewide.
Vaccination rates in Sheboygan County have been slowing in concert with the rest of the state. 2,726 doses were administered last week, and 50,599 persons have received at least one dose. 44,563 – or 38.6% – are fully vaccinated.
