Robert M. “Bob” Steindorf, 79, of Plymouth found peace on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Waterford in
Plymouth.
Bob was born on December 18, 1941, in Fond du Lac, a son to the late Milton and June (Buchta)
Steindorf. He attended schools in Oakfield, graduating from Oakfield High School. Bob was a proud U.S.
Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam era. He had a long career as a truck driver with the Gus
Holman Co. Bob enjoyed the outdoors and a variety of hobbies including hunting, fishing, camping, card
playing, taxidermy and NASCAR.
Bob bowled on a bowling league for many years at Maple Lanes, was a past member of the Whitetail
Bowhunters, and a long-time member of the Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243 in Plymouth.
Bob is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer (Matthew) Wuensch of Kewaskum, June (Mark) Kruger
of Jackson and Bobbie (Michael) McGrew of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Steven Fricke, Alyssa Fricke,
Sara Fricke, Samantha Mendez, Joseph Mendez, Jr., Caidence Mendez, Natalie Kruger, Hailey Mendez,
Alex Mendez and Brianna Kruger; and four great-grandchildren, Mason Hess, Dante Manning, Mayah
Fricke and Jocelynn Manning. Other relatives and friends further survive. Along with his parents he was
preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alexandra Mendez.
A Memorial Service for Robert will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, May 15 at Wittkopp Funeral and
Cremation Service with Rev. John Schultz officiating Military rites will be accorded by the Ladewig-
Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243 following the service. Inurnment will take place in the Avoca
Cemetery at Oakfield. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 123 South Street in Plymouth
on Saturday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at Noon. Social distancing with masks will be
observed.
Bob’s family would like to thank all the nurses and other caregivers who assisted with Bob’s care these
past two years.
