CHICAGO, IL (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers took the rubber match of their three-game series with the Cubs with a 6-0 win in Chicago on Sunday.
Brandon Woodruff stuck out eight over six scoreless innings to earn his first win in 11 career appearances against the Cubs. Luis Urías hit a two-run single during Milwaukee’s five-run ninth inning as the Brewers took two-of-three in the series to conclude their road trip with a 5-1 record.
The disastrous ninth inning ruined a stellar start by Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta, who struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up one run.
The Brewers are 13-8 and will begin a seven-game homestand Monday night as they open a three-game series against the Miami Marlins.
