22 more persons have officially recovered from their bout with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Sheboygan County. With 14 new confirmed cases since Thursday, the active case count fell by 8 to 157. In all, 13,609 county residents have contracted the coronavirus, and 136 did not survive.
Wisconsin added another 795 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19 on Friday, and the running total now reads 593,789. 13 more deaths due to the disease raise the toll to 6,738, and 48 more persons needed to be hospitalized for treatment. After accounting for deaths and discharges, the state’s COVID patient population rose by 7, to 353…108 of those in ICU beds. Ventilator use – after topping 400 on Thursday – was down to 381 for the state on Friday.
Over 40% (40.3%) of Sheboygan County residents have now received at least one dose of vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. That amounts to 46,462 persons. 34,412, or 29.8% of the county population, have received a full course of vaccination. The number of weekly vaccinations in Sheboygan County peaked at 9,104 the week of April 4th. The week of the 11th, that had fallen to 6,625, and so far this week, 4,688 doses have been administered in Sheboygan County.
