Gentle trends dominate the COVID-19 numbers in Sheboygan County of late, as exemplified on Friday when 21 recoveries offset 17 new cases of the disease, lowering the active case county by 4 to 178. At the same time, hospitalizations were up by two, to 6. No more than 10 county residents have been hospitalized on any given day since January 26th when there were 11 patients. In all, 13,520 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Sheboygan County, and 134 of those resulted in death.
The Sheboygan County DPH reported today that the county is currently experiencing a “high” activity level of COVID-19. The corresponding mitigation strategies and recommendations for this level can be found here:

Wisconsin recorded an additional 709 cases of COVID-19 since Thursday, pushing the running total to 589,213. Five deaths were recorded at the same time, and a total of 6,703 in Wisconsin have now lost their lives due to the coronavirus. 69 more persons needed to enter hospitals for treatment, and after accounting for deaths and discharges the state’s COVID-19 patient population grew by 16 to 309, 86 of those in ICU beds.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services stressed today that one does not need insurance in order to be vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and if one does have health insurance, then any administration fee charged to the insurance cannot be passed along to the insured. Also, no proof of residency or state I.D. is required to be vaccinated. The Wisconsin DHS has reiterated to vaccinators that ID and insurance are not required, and providers will receive followup from the agency.
