MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Cocktails-to-go is the law of the land.
Govenor Tony Evers signed the bipartisan bill authorizing restaurants and bars to serve drinks to-go on Friday.
Establishments will need to use tamper-evident seals on their drinks when serving them to-go in order to comply with open container laws while driving.
The drinks will be sold pick-up only, delivery won’t be available.
The bill was advanced in response to restaurants who were forced to reduce their business to pick-up and delivery only during Governor Evers ‘Safer at Home’ order last year, made in reaction to the then-nascent COVID-19 pandemic.
