Lenora Dorothy Schuette, 82, of Glenbeulah passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at her home with her loving
family beside her.
Lenora was born on October 10, 1938 in Plymouth a daughter to the late Arno and Marie (Bassuener) Pfeifer. She
graduated as valedictorian from Glenbeulah High School Class of 1956 and continued her education graduating from
Wisconsin State College at Whitewater in Business Education. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Schuette by Rev.
Robert Maschke on June 22, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church. Robert preceded her in death January 27, 1982. Lenora was
a tour guide at the Wade House; taught Business Education at Rosendale and Howards Grove High Schools; was
bookkeeper and office manager of W.D. Scott Company in Glenbeulah and a bookkeeper for Arno Pfeifer, Inc. in
Greenbush.
The greatest joy of life for Lenora was being a mom and grandma to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed
reading, crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, calligraphy and was an expert seamstress.
Lenora was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah being baptized there by Rev. Louis Spilker on
October 30, 1938 and confirmed by Rev. Robert Maschke on April 6, 1952. As a member of Zion Lutheran, she was
church secretary, church organist, served with the Altar Guild, Ladies Aid and church choir. She was also a 4-H leader
and served on the Greenbush Cemetery Board.
Lenora is survived by her children, Jillane Schuette of New Berlin, Jamesjohn (Kathy) Schuette of Kiel, Marie Schuette of
Glenbeulah, Michelle (Lance) Dundee of Houston, Nicole Schuette of New Berlin and Nicholas (Denise) Schuette of
Glenbeulah; six grandchildren, William Dundee of Houston, Wyatt, Kortney and Spencer Schuette of Glenbeulah,
Jennifer (David) Kurneta of Miramar, CA and Heather Breest of Arvada, CO; a great granddaughter, Victoria Kurneta; her
brothers and sister, John (Myra) Pfeifer of Glenbeulah, Alton (Judy) Pfeifer of Sheboygan, David Pfeifer of Elkhorn and
Carol (Roger) Wordell of New Holstein; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Virginia Pfeifer of Kiel, Eileen Meyer of
Sheboygan, Judie Schuette of Sheboygan Falls, Richard Schuette of Lancaster, CA, Mary Schuette of Sheboygan Falls and
Thomas (Diane) Schuette of Plymouth and a goddaughter, Wendy Pfeifer of Plymouth. She is further survived by many
nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her
mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter and Irene (Biederwolf) Schuette, brothers William and Daniel Pfeifer and
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elwood Meyer, Ken and Lila Schuette, Sang Schuette and James Schuette.
A funeral service for Lenora will be held 1 PM, Thursday, March 25 at Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah with Rev,
Donald Johnson, pastor, as officiant. Burial will follow in the Greenbush Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the
church, 200 Main Street, Glenbeulah on Thursday from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM. Social distancing and
masks will be required.
A memorial fund is being established in Lenora’s name for Zion Lutheran Church and Glenbeulah First Responders.
Lenora’s family would like to extend their appreciation to St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice for their care and
compassion. Without their assistance Lenora would not have been able to return home where her family could care for
her until she passed away with them beside her.
