City of Sheboygan government wants to see how the current classification and compensation of its non-represented employees stacks up among other cities, and a resolution to hire Carlson-Dettmann Consulting to do the job is being forwarded for full council approval.
According to Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations Vicky Schneider, the assessment will provide an in-depth analysis of each job description and role, compare wages and salaries from like-sized organizations and communities, and provide recommendations for any need changes. The goal is to ensure Sheboygan provides just and competitive wages and consistency across all departments. And that, she said, should provide a firm foundation for several years, and ensure that the City of Sheboygan is competitive in the marketplace as an Employer of Choice.
