Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig on Monday released information on two vehicle pursuits conducted in the last few days.
On Saturday the Manitowoc County Sheriff attempted to stop a speeding southbound vehicle on I-43 driven by 23-year-old Joshua Lawrence from Milwaukee. Lawrence took off at speeds up to 95 miles and hour and attempted to exit at Highway 151 and struck a curb, deflating the front drivers side tire. The chase continued on 151 until the vehicle left the road, landing in a front yard when a foot chase ensued. Lawrence was apprehended and faces charges of felony fleeing, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, a probation hold and speeding violations.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff responded shortly after midnight Monday morning to a hit-and-run crash with an unoccupied vehicle in the Village of Cleveland. The suspect was located driving northbound on LS with a flat front passenger side tire. When a traffic stop failed the chase continued northbound on LS until the other front tire deflated. The chase didn’t end until the car stopped in the 1300 block of South 10th Street in the City of Manitowoc. The operator, identified as 38-year-old Robert Autman of Milwaukee was arrested for felony fleeing, OWI, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, operating after revocation and a probation hold.
The investigation later revealed that his passenger, 40-year-old Marissa Flores of Milwaukee was behind the wheel during the initial crash. She received OWI and hit-and-run charges in addition to those of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and a probation hold.
