SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – A Sheboygan man will appear in court next week for a plea hearing on child pornography charges.
Court documents say Darryl Shumate was arrested in November after Sheboygan Police got a tip from Facebook Cybertips about two people exchanging child pornography. Detectives went to a home on North 11th Street, seized a smart phone, computer equipment, and digital storage devices. Investigators found child pornography on the drives, and Shumate had admitted to downloading the images.
Shumate is facing 25 years in prison on each of the 8 felony charges. A plea hearing is set for next Tuesday, with a jury trial scheduled for the following week.
