
Melvyn L. Schneider, age 84, of Waldo, WI, passed away late Friday evening (March 5, 2021) at his home
surrounded by his loving family at his side.
He was born on July 3, 1936 in Waldo, a son of the late William and Adeline (Tauber) Schneider.
Mel attended Waldo High School and graduated in 1954.
On July 22, 1963 he married Heide Dumpelmann. The couple has resided in Waldo since their marriage.
He was employed at the Kohler Company for 44 years retiring in 1998 and was a member of the Quarter
Century Club.
Mel was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Waldo and served as a Village of Waldo
board member for 22 years and also belonged to the Waldo Lions Club for many years.
He enjoyed golfing and recorded hitting 2 hole-in-ones’s and was instrumental in starting the Cascade
Golf League at Crystal Lake. Mel also loved hunting, fishing, traveling and was an avid “Antiquer”.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Heide of Waldo, Three children: Karen (Myron Sr.) Boyle of
Whitewater, David Schneider of Plymouth and Dan (Rachael) Schneider of Waldo. Four grandchildren:
Tiger and Aaron Boyle both of Whitewater and Amelia and Brady Schneider of both of Waldo.
Two sisters: Sharon Gerber of Sheboygan and Diane (Tom) Gordon of Crystal Lake, One brother:
Joe (Kay) Schneider of Cascade and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Following Melvyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will be held on
Wednesday afternoon (March 10, 2021) at 1:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev.
Shane Cota, pastor of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Waldo will officiate.
Visitation will be at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the
time of services. You cooperation is appreciated in following the recommendations of the CDC; you are
asked to maintain physical distancing and wear a face mask or covering while attending.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Melvyn’s name for the Sharon S. Richardson
Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
