The number of active cases of COVID-19 bumped up again according to Thursday’s daily update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. 11 persons recovered, while 17 received positive test results, raising by 6 the active case count, now at 139. 12,947 cases have been identified in Sheboygan County so far. One more person than yesterday is hospitalized, and the county’s COVID patient population rose to 4. The positive test rate was 18%.
The two-week average rates and trajectories were updated, and Sheboygan County remains at a “High” activity level, with 183.4 cases per 100,000 persons. There was no significant change in trajectory, and the percent positive test rate since mid-February is 4.9%.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services added 677 new cases of the coronavirus to the running total of 565,808. 14% of tests returned were positive. 12 more deaths pushed that toll up to 6,470, and 51 more persons entered hospitals for treatment of COVID-19. After accounting for deaths and discharges, the patient population dropped 5 to 262, 67 of those in ICU beds.
The Wisconsin DHS has announced the launch of the COVID-19 Vaccine Assistance Hotline. Wisconsin residents can now call 844-684-1064 for personal assistance with their vaccine-related questions. The new call center is equipped to help people find vaccine locations, answer medical questions related to the COVID-19 vaccine, and assist with registration, including but not limited to providers using the Wisconsin COVID-19 vaccine registry.
