Meat packing employees across the country have started getting the vaccine and it was announced that thousands more will have the opportunity this week. The United Food and Commercial Workers Union said interest from workers at plants across the country is high. According to a survey conducted by the union, about 70% of those who have a chance to get the shot will receive it.
Large companies like JBS, Cargill, Tyson Foods, and Smithfield explained that there are numerous states planning to vaccinate this week. Processing plants in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Nebraska will either conduct large vaccination opportunities for employees or they’ll only offer the vaccine to those 65 and older.
