Active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County were eleven fewer on Friday than on Thursday according to data from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. 10 of the 105 test results received – 9.5% – were positive, while 21 more persons recovered, putting the active case count at 162. 12,748 county residents in all have had COVID-19, and 126 deaths have been attributed to the disease.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed 774 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, raising the total to 558,496. That was 14.5% of tests returned. 35 deaths since Thursday were attributed to COVID-19, putting the toll at 6,267. 79 more persons were hospitalized in the last 24 hours, and after accounting for deaths and discharges, the state population of coronavirus patients dropped 18 to 370, 96 of those in ICU beds. 400 persons were on ventilators.
As for vaccinations, per Friday morning data from the Wisconsin DHS, 10.9% (12,609) of Sheboygan County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine. 4.1% (4,731) of residents have completed the vaccine series.
