As of Wednesday, just under 10% of Sheboygan County residents had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and nearly 4,100 had completed their two-dose series. But many others are frustrated in their efforts to even get a spot in line. That could soon change, as connecting people with that vaccine is the goal of a new program of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services being launched March 1st. The Wisconsin COVID-19 Vaccine Registry that will help the public get vaccinated as well as tracking the now-extremely-limited supply. It will be an opt-in program serving in addition to many registries already being operated by health care systems, pharmacies and local health departments.
Testing of the system begins on Monday. More information is available here.
