KEWASKUM, WI (WHBL) – Three people are dead in Washington County following a home invasion Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say one person called 9-1-1, saying the suspect had forced his way into their Kewaskum home and demanded keys to a vehicle. The suspect shot and killed a resident of that home before police arrived.
Deputies exchanged gunfire with the suspect who fled on foot but was found dead of a gunshot wound shortly thereafter. It’s not known if the suspect was hit by a bullet fired by officers or if it was self-inflicted.
As SWAT officers conducted a search of nearby properties, they found a third person who died of an apparent gunshot wound.
No names have been released as the investigation is ongoing.
