MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers are adding Gold Glove second baseman Kolten Wong. The Athletic reports he’s agreed to a two-year, 18-million dollar deal with Milwaukee that includes a club option for 2023.
The 30-year-old Wong spent his first eight seasons with the division rival St. Louis Cardinals but became a free agent in the offseason when the Cardinals declined a $12.5 million option for 2021.
Wong has won the National League Gold Glove at second base each of the last two seasons. He’s also a .261 hitter.
The signing could result in current second baseman Keston Hiura being shifted to first base.
