SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – After dominating attention for so much of 2020, elections might seem finally behind us…but there’s a primary election two weeks from today, and local voters will be deciding candidates for the April general election of Mayor, as well as State Superintendent of Public Instruction and Sheboygan Area School District Board members.
Current Sheboygan Mayor Mike Vandersteen will be seeking his third term on that ballot along with challengers, Common Council President Ryan Sorenson and small business owner James Tesauro. The top two candidates will compete in April, along with candidates for Alderpersons in District 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9, and for the School Board.
State driver licenses and IDs are the most common form of identification used for voting purposes. Anyone without a valid ID should take steps now to obtain one from the Wisconsin DOT’s Division of Motor Vehicles.
