GREEN BAY, WI (WHBL) – Former Green Bay Packer general manager Ted Thompson has passed away. He was 68-years-old.
Thompson served as GM of the Packers from 2005 through 2017, making quarterback Aaron Rodgers his first-ever draft pick after taking over. He was also at the head of the trade of Packers legend Brett Favre to the New York Jets in 2008, which paved the way for Rodgers to take over at quarterback.
Thompson was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 2019. The team also plans on adding his name to the facade of Lambeau Field ahead of the start of next season.
