MADISON, WI (WSAU-WRN) — Dane County’s Sheriff will not finish out the remainder of his term.
Dave Mahoney has informed county and state leaders that he will be resigning his position effective in May for a job in the private sector.
WIBA Radio in Madison reports Mahoney will be taking a job with American Family Insurance in a security and incident management role. Governor Evers will now be tasked with naming a replacement to fill out the remainder of his term.
Mahoney had previously announced intentions to not seek re-election in 2022.
