SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – – While there’s no guarantee, face-to-face instruction in a hybrid model might resume as soon as January 4th in the Sheboygan Area School District.
Schools Superintendent Seth Harvatine told WHBL news Wednesday morning that the current plan to remain in a virtual learning model until the beginning of the second semester was put under review at Tuesday night’s board meeting, and a parent survey will be conducted to gain feedback on how well the virtual instruction has been working.
The survey will assess performance, the mental health and wellbeing of students, and preferences for learning options – those being virtual, hybrid, or full daily instruction for the second semester.
The survey results will be reviewed during a Special Session of the SASD Board next Tuesday, December 15th, and further discussion on whether or not to return to virtual learning on January 4th will take place at that time. Meanwhile, the Board did agree to begin winter sports next week Monday.
A parent communication update, including survey links, will be sent out to district families today.
