SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – One of the fastest-growing tech devices recently has been the Ring doorbell, which incorporates a camera that records activity and can be accessed by the owner through a phone app. That capability has been leveraged to form the Ring Neighborhood Community, and the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office has joined in. The Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday on their Facebook page that they will utilize the new service as an additional way to share information within the community.
Those who own a Ring doorbell and use the Neighbors app can receive notifications from the Sheriff’s Office and make their recordings available to investigators. The Sheriff can’t access your device, and can’t see recordings unless you make them available. And even if you don’t have a Ring doorbell, you can sign up online to participate in the community at the following link: https://ring.com/neighbors
