SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health’s daily report on the COVID-19 pandemic showed 181 new cases confirmed in the county, 43% of the 419 test results received since Wednesday. With 145 persons recovering in the last 24 hours, 2,599 persons are now actively battling the coronavirus, 28 of those in the hospital. That’s a reduction of 3 patients since Wednesday. Of the 8,021 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the county so far, 5,374 – or 67% – have recovered, while 48 – or 0.6% – have died.
Wisconsin added 6,635 new cases of COVID-19, putting the state total so far at 338,472. Given the 12,585 tests returned in all since Wednesday, the positive rate was 34.5%. 83 more persons died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the state death toll to 2,876. Another 236 persons were hospitalized, raising the patient population in Wisconsin to 2,104…113 less than on Wednesday. 427 patients are in the ICU, and 626 ventilators are being used among all patients in the state.
17 patients are being treated at the Alternate Care Facility at State Park in West Allis, five fewer than Wednesday.
Thursday is the scheduled day when the county’s weekly Facility-Wide Investigations report is released. However, the DPH said that due to a shift in staffing of the School Liaisons, the update will be delayed. That will be included in Friday’s report.
