(WHBL) – A Sheboygan County native, now with the Calumet County District Attorney’s Office, is hoping to replace L. Edward Stengel as Judge in Sheboygan County’s Circuit Court Branch 1.
Samantha Bastil is a 2004 grad of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School who earned her degree from Marquette Law School in 2011 and served in the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office until 2017 when she was hired as Sheboygan County’s Assistant Corporation Counsel. She moved to a prosecutors position in the Calumet County DA’s office this past year. Bastil also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Lakeland University and lives in Sheboygan with her husband and two children.
Stengel announced last week that he won’t seek reelection when his term expires next July.
