(WHBL) – An anticipated seasonal slump in blood donations has the American Red Cross asking for donors to step forward and keep supplies stable. The organization says that donations typically slack off between Thanksgiving and the new year, and with the coronavirus pandemic still going strong this year’s slump could be more significant than in other years.
Each week you can donate blood in just about every county in southeastern Wisconsin at a regularly scheduled collection, and in Sheboygan County you can donate as soon as today between noon and 5 at the Holiday Inn Express just off South Taylor Drive, or tomorrow from 10 until 3 at the Sheboygan Trades and Labor Hall at 11th and Wisconsin Avenue.
As an added benefit each donation is tested for COVID antibodies. That means you can discover if you’ve ever had COVID-19 and, if that test is positive, then your blood plasma can help patients recover from their infection.
You’ll find more information and donor opportunities at RedCrossBlood.org.
