MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin surpassed 200,000 total coronavirus cases on Monday, but the state reported its fewest new cases in two weeks.
The Department of Health Services said 2,883 tests came back positive, or 22.6% of the 12,749 total. Ten new deaths were reported.
Those numbers compared to seven-day averages of 3,879 new cases, 25.4% positive and 27 deaths.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 201,049 total cases, nearly 1.8 million negative tests and 1,788 deaths. DHS considers 158,158 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
As of Monday, there were four COVID-19 patients being treated at the alternate care facility at State Fair Park in West Allis, the most in the nearly two weeks it has been open.
Overall hospital numbers are expected to be updated later Monday afternoon.
